We then journey southward through Imouzzer to explore Ifrane, renowned for its chilly climate, snow, and picturesque alpine-style houses—no wonder it’s dubbed the Switzerland of Morocco. Our exploration continues into the cedars forest, home to Barbary Macaques welcome to feed during your forest stroll. Following this, we proceed to Midelt for lunch before embarking on the Sahara expedition, navigating the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and tracing the scenic route along the Ziz river.
In the afternoon, we reach the Merzouga Sahara. Here, you’ll transition to camels for a journey across the sandy expanse, pausing for a wide ranging sunset atop a lofty dune. The day concludes at an expensive desert camp, where the evening unfolds with Berber drum music, dancing round the campfire beneath a huge, star-studded sky. Dinner and a restful overnight stay await at the camp.

Our journey in Merzouga begins with an off-road drive to go to an ancient eyeliner mine. Pay a visit to the nomads in their handmade woven tent, gaining insights into their way of life over Berber tea. Our next stop is that the Khamlia village, where you’ll experience Gnaoua music and captivating dance performances. Originating from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger, the village offers free time for lunch at an area restaurant. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll during a palm grove and drive a couple of kilometers to witness the captivating wild lake of Merzouga, also referred to as Flamingos Lake.
