Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Boumalne Dades

The 4 days journey from Marrakech to Fes commences with an early pickup from either Marrakesh’s airport or your accommodation. start a scenic drive through the captivating High Atlas Mountains and therefore the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, featuring stops for breathtaking panoramic views of the landscapes.

Continuing the journey, we visit the renowned Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famed for its appearances in numerous movies like Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and television series like Game Of Thrones. Subsequently, we head to “The gate of the desert,” Ouarzazate, where we explore the Atlas Studio, known for shooting famous movies, and visit the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate.

Moving forward, we venture into the Rose Valley, known for its annual Rose Festival held in May, where locals present their rose-derived products, including perfumes, rose water, oils, and cosmetics. Finally, the day concludes as we arrive in Boumalne Dades for dinner and an overnight stay during a hotel or Riad. 

 Day 2: Boumalne Dades Todra Gorges – Erfoud -Merzouga Sahara – overnight in camp

Following breakfast, absorb the awe-inspiring scenery of the Dades Gorges before continuing on to the Todra Gorges. Carved by the Todra River, these mountains feature towering red cliffs forming a powerful canyon. Take an opportunity for lunch and explore the gorges, appreciating the stunning landscape.

In the afternoon, reach the Sahara in Merzouga. Transition to camelback and traverse the sandy expanse. Pause at a high dune to witness the mesmerizing sunset. Then, proceed to the deluxe desert camp where you’ll enjoys Berber drum music, dance under the vast starry sky round the campfire, and luxuriate in dinner before spending the night at the camp.  

Day 3: Explore Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi

Waking early to witness the mesmerizing sunrise within the desert may be a must. Following breakfast, return on camels to Merzouga where the driving force awaits. The day is devoted to exploring the various region of Merzouga, offering an array of remarkable sites encompassing sand dunes, a wild lake, mines, fossil areas, and stunning oases—a paradise for various outdoor activities.

Beginning the journey in Merzouga, start an off-road drive to go to an ancient eyeliner mine. Engage with nomads in their traditional woven tents and study their lifestyle while enjoying a cup of Berber tea. Our next stop is that the Khamlia village, renowned for its vibrant Gnaoua music and captivating dance performances. Its inhabitants hail from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Lunchtime allows for leisure at a restaurant.

Afterward, take a serene stroll through a palm grove before venturing a couple of kilometers to witness the untamed great thing about Merzouga’s wild lake, also referred to as the flamingos lake. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay during a hotel.  

Day 4: Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedars forest – Ifrane – Fes

On the ultimate day of your 4 days journey from Marrakech to Fes, start the day early to witness the breathtaking sunrise within the desert. After a leisurely breakfast, return on camels to Merzouga where your driver are going to be waiting. Departing from the desert, our first stop is Rissani town, the traditional capital of Tafilalet and still a bustling trading hub with an active souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Explore the colourful atmosphere of Rissani’s souk before continuing to Erfoud to go to a workshop showcasing fossilized marble.

Following this, we journey alongside the Ziz River, pausing for a bird’s eye view of the Ziz Valley. Enjoy free time for lunch in Midelt before continuing to the cedar forest, home to the Barbary Macaques. Take the chance to interact with these fascinating creatures as you wander through the forest. subsequent stop is Ifrane, renowned for its cool climate, snowfall, and charming alpine-style houses, often mentioned because the “Switzerland of Morocco.”

Finally, the tour concludes together with your drop-off at the airport or your accommodation in Fes, marking the top of this enriching and diverse journey through Morocco.
